 Our Guarantee
J&L Pointing Labs guarantees that the puppy you purchase is free of of hip & elbow dysphasia, and any CERF eye defects. If the puppy is found to have either of these problems provided all of the criteria is met, the puppy will either be replaced or a refund given.

For the guarantee not to be voided the dogs hips should be x-rayed between the ages of 24 and 26 months of age by an approved veterinarian. These x-rays should be sent to O.F.A. to be examined, if you do not have your dogs hips x-rayed by 26 months of age this guarantee will become void. If it is found that the dog is dysplastic the owner of the dog must submit written proof from O.F.A., and the dog must be spayed or neutered. We would also need documentation from the vet that the dog has been fixed. If this is not met the guarantee is void.

If you breed your dog before it has been x-rayed and approved by O.F.A this guarantee is void. You must have your dog's eyes examined by 1 year of age by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist. If a defect is found by the certified veterinary ophthalmologist written documentation must be given to us stating that the defect is definitely hereditary and not caused by illness or injury. Any dog that has not had it's eyes CERF by 16 months of age will not be covered by this guarantee.

We highly recommend that you feed your puppy a nutritional balanced diet, especially up to the 3 to 4 months of age. The puppy needs the most nutrition up to this age, a puppy food that is high in protein is best. We recommend switching them to an adult food after 4 months of age that has somewhere around 20-23% protein. The reason for this is because with Labradors being a larger breed they are known to grow quite rapidly if they are not switched to a dog food with lower protein. If your dog grows too quickly it can be hard on their knees and joints, as well as their bones. Feeding your puppy a highly nutritional diet will also greatly increase it's immunity, which will help it fight disease, allergies, and things of this nature.
